This is a wonderful science kit, packed with loads of ingredients for kids (ideally 6y+) to experience. The kit came with a brilliant guide book too that is super easy to follow. There are supposedly over 120 different experiments available to perform so lots to learn and to have fun with. These experiments are also very engaging for kids and keep them busy and intrigued for long. My 6 year old loves science so this was a perfect gift for him. He has been trying 2 to 3 new experiments pretty much everyday. In terms of the price of this kit, given the quality of ingredients and the learning aspect, it is priced very reasonably and offers very good value for money. All in all very pleased with this kit and would highly recommend it. Have also rated it as a solid 5 stars!

The 'SCIENCE DIARY My First Chemistry Science Kit for Kids - 120+ Fun Experiments' is a very well thought out science kit for inquisitive minds. The kit comes with nearly everything needed to perform the experiments - which are guided by the very helpful 120 experiment book that comes with the kit. Simple everyday objects are also used in the experiments which can help kids associate how and why science is important. The interior of the box is well set out and the individual packs containing the experiment components is well thought out. The only bug bear in my case was that one of the granulated packets was not sealed that well and was loose inside the pack. Other than that it was all good. Though I would probably not set my nephew free on this on his own, I think he will thoroughly enjoy performing the experiments with me or his mum and dad. Reading through the experiments, though to my mind some are really rudimentary (like compressing a straw jacket), I can see how they will be interesting. £29.99 less 20% is a good price - especially considering that I would spend hours trying to think up a creative present for my nephews and niece.

This is a fantastic set. It’s comprehensive catalogue of items and experiments makes it a great kit for the budding scientist or even just an inquisitive child. Der Experimentierkasten von **SCIENCE DIARY** bietet eine Vielzahl spannender Experimente, die Kindern einen ersten Einblick in die Welt der Chemie ermöglichen. Über 120 Experimente werden dort erklärt. Manche aber auch nur mit Materialien aus dem Haushalt (mehr dazu unten). Die beigefügten Materialien, wie Messbecher, Pipetten und Schutzbrillen, sind sicher und gut verarbeitet, sodass Kinder problemlos mit ihnen umgehen können. Für viele Experimente werden zusätzliche Haushaltsmaterialien wie Zucker oder Öl benötigt. Der Kasten kommt aus China und leider hat ein Computer alles übersetzt. Daher gibt es ein paar tolle Übersetzungsfehler und Unklarheiten in der Anleitung, die an manchen Stellen für Verwirrung sorgen können. Ein Beispiel ist die Erwähnung von "Kerosin", das wohl kaum jemand zuhause hat – hier hätte mehr Sorgfalt bei der Übersetzung gutgetan. Trotz dieser Mängel ist das Set eine tolle Möglichkeit, Kinder für Wissenschaft zu begeistern. Es fordert jedoch oft die aktive Beteiligung von Erwachsenen, um den jungen Forschern bei den Experimenten zu helfen und die Ergebnisse zu erklären. Insgesamt würde ich sagen: Ein gutes Set mit viel Spaß und Lerneffekt. Der Preis von rund 30€ scheint mir etwas hoch. Dafür müsste die Anleitung besser und die Ausstattung etwas umfangreicher sein. Bei der Bewertung ist mir immer auch der Umweltaspekt wichtig. Von Verpackung, über erwartete Lebensdauer, bis hin zur Möglichkeit der Reparatur durch uns Kunden.
